A Postcard from Annecy

A Postcard from Annecy

Lake Annecy on a perfect summer's day. Love how finely the colours pop out, how the boats contrast the clear water, and how the boat umbrellas line up with the lake. It just looks stunningly unreal (not to hype myself up too much).

Bug Meets Man

Bug Meets Man

People ask me what I like taking photos of or what my photography style is, and it's genuinely just capturing things in the moment like this. A butterfly landed on this man's hat and I wanted to make sure I got the wing details with the hat too, turned out pretty well I think

Cannes Main Character

Cannes Main Character

Shot in Cannes, France, where this guy was definitely not a paid actor to stand at such a great location. But maybe the bird was.

Gliding on Cloud 9

Gliding on Cloud 9

It's a simple shot but it took ages to get right. I love the simplicity in the colours as well how the blue paraglider matches with the blue sky, again it's one of those "in the moment" shots, love it a lot

Glow in the Green

Glow in the Green

Love how the umbrella stands out from the surrounding greenery, but even the green aspects glow, love it.

LES BOISSSS

LES BOISSSS

Lfg Les Bois. Simple shot of the sign pointing in the direction of the mountain. Bosch.

Look! Mont Blanc!

Look! Mont Blanc!

I'm like 90% sure that they were pointing at Mont Blanc, but I just love how expressive these statues were and that's what I wanted to capture here

Pink French Van

Pink French Van

I feel like there's something so undeniably French about this photo, I think it's all to do with the pink van.

Red Light, Green Light

Red Light, Green Light

The amount of times we'd hear the train and I'd bolt ahead with my camera to take a photo of it like this with the mountains in the background. I love how much the red stands out against the natural scenery around it.

Simplicity in Nature

Simplicity in Nature

I really like the simplicity of this shot. If I didn't like my current home screen as much as I do then this photo would definitely be it instead. I love how the blue and green are almost 50/50 in the frame, and the colours just pop out so well, was way better irl

The Chamonix Aesthetic

The Chamonix Aesthetic

The filter on this shot is actually insane, I love how softly the colours come out.

The Most Scenic McDonalds Ever

The Most Scenic McDonalds Ever

Name a more scenic location where there's a McDonalds, I feel like this is on par with the Lawsons shop by Mt. Fuji.

The Spire Beneath

The Spire Beneath

Aim for this photo was lining up the spire with one of the paths on the mountain - I think it turned out pretty well! It kind of makes it look continuous the way it lines up. It's getting harder to make names for each photo idk if you can tell lol but thanks for being here

Truly Peak Peak

Truly Peak Peak

Isn't this peak just truly peak? I really like how the mountain just sits in the background but not in a looming way, but the sign kind of acts like a leading pointer to the mountain

Un Parapentiste à Chamonix

Un Parapentiste à Chamonix

There were so many paragliders in Chamonix, so I really wanted to capture one flying down with the mountains in the background. Came out pretty well I think oui oui

A Lumberjack's Dream

A Lumberjack's Dream

Imagine living up in the mountains with a view like this with your own cabin that you've built, that'd be so sick. I just like how this photo looks for that reason tbh

Pardon my French

Eau Non Potable (unless you're a chicken)

Eau Non Potable (unless you're a chicken)

Another example of catching something in the moment

Eau Non Potable

Eau Non Potable

I love photos that catch moving things and shows them in the moment, like moving water - you can kind of imagine the water flowing and the wheel spinning just from looking at a frame of it - sick

Foreground Flowers

Foreground Flowers

I really like the flowers in the foreground of the lake, like it kind of guides your eye to the lake but the flowers are still subtly there

Framed by the Forest

Framed by the Forest

I love the framing in this photo. I lined up one of the deer between two trees and then got the focus right to make the deer the main subject, love how it turned out

Happy Goat

Happy Goat

I don't think this was a goat, despite what the title suggests. I just can't remember what the actual type of goat it was lol.

Quick! Here comes the train!

Quick! Here comes the train!

Another moment where I heard the train and bolted down the street to where the barrier was to try and catch the train going off towards the mountains. Nothing more thrilling than running to get a shot and then getting the shot, love how memories are engrained into each of these photos.

Simple Swan

Simple Swan

This is simply a swan, but even though it's so simple I love how much the individual colours pop out

The Continuous Path

The Continuous Path

I really really like how the path lines up with the waterfall path on the mountain - I tried to attempt this shot in another photo but I think this one turned out as the better of the two

The French Portal

The French Portal

This was taken in a medieval French castle in Avignon, would've loved if someone came along and walked through the gap but alas, there was no one.

Upside-Down Swan

Upside-Down Swan

I just thought this was quite funny to take a photo of cos the swan kept dunking its head underwater. Love the very bluey-green water

Wes Anderson in Annecy

Wes Anderson in Annecy

I tried to frame this photo in a WA style - i.e. get the man in the centre with the two blue poles on either side. It turned out pretty well I think!

What a Great Tree

What a Great Tree

What a great fricking tree. Doesn't it look great? I couldn't agree more.
